Redwall Cavern

Day 3

This is a giant cave the river hollowed out in a bend. Powell estimated that this cavern could hold 50,000 people. That seems hard to believe, at first. As with so much else in the Canyon, it's easy to lose a sense of scale. As you walk into the cavern, though, it starts to seem deeper and deeper, wider and wider, and taller and taller.

The people playing wiffle-ball give this picture some scale.
