.NET 2.0 for Delphi Programmers - Reviews

Jon really knows how to explain *weird* .NET concepts using simple words and quite a lot of examples written in Delphi (and in C# where needed). Full of hints that all Delphi for .NET programmers should know .... I recommend this book to Pascal developers who will ... deal with C# [but] you should have this book even if you are a dedicated Delphi for .NET developer who does not plan to switch to C#. Jon manages to answer questions in this book before you even have time to think about it. Conceptually solid ... examines .NET architecture in depth ... I am very impressed. It's the single most used book in my collection today when it comes to .NET. This book is a must read for Delphi programmers .... It makes the complex things easy to understand to give you immediately knowledge of the material, even if you don't understand all the details yet. In my opinion this will be a classic Delphi book, one that should be on almost every Delphi programmer's bookshelf. In many ways it is a more readable, mature and Delphi-friendly version of Jeff Richter's Applied .NET Framework Programming. |
